Being in Love Means Never Having to Say You're Sorry

Some say that when you're in love, your heart sometimes skips a beat. That's always the case when you're a Cubs fan.

At the gym this evening, the last few innings of tonight's game against the lowly Pirates kept good pace with my 6.4mph clip as our guys clung on to a 4-3 lead. But as I completed the four miles and cooled off, the adrenaline just wouldn't go down as LaTroy Hawkins blew the save and gave up his first run in the last 10 innings and eight games pitched. (A collective groan rumbles across the treadmills, who for all we know, may have been Sox fans as they continued whirring without mercy.) He ended up with the W anyway as Corey Patterson scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch... but that's the game of baseball for you. One side of the red seams go in one direction and the other side goes the other way.
